Pre-recorded collage class with Kate Semple - 16th June
@stillflowerdrawing
This class is perfect for those who live in a different time zone or couldn’t join the class on the
16th June 2022.
STILL is a place where you can slow down, reconnect with your hands and learn basic collaging techniques.
All levels are welcome
Materials you will need….
For painting your paper:
A sponge
Paint brushes – have a few different sizes to hand.
Old house painting paint brush for stippling – this is best if it’s dried out and hard.
A collection of paper you have lying around the house – this could be cartridge paper, old envelopes, scraps from the kids drawings, sugar paper, old pieces of printing paper - It’s best for these bits not to be creased.
A pot with water to wash your brushes
A hair dryer or some tissue for blotting the paint if you don’t have a hair dryer.
A collection of different paints to choose from. It can be helpful to stick to a tonal colour palette when choosing your colours, otherwise it can be a bit overwhelming – go for colours you like/would like to have around your house and maybe stick to 4/5. Make sure you include some light and some dark colours.
Paints to try - Indian inks, Water colours, Acrylics, Guache, Old tester paint pots
For collaging:
Scissors
Uhu glue or if you can’t get that pva or wood glue is fine.
A4 or A3 paper for your final collage
We encourage you to be resourceful, don’t go out and buy things, use whatever you can find in the house.
This a pre-recorded class on Zoom so the quality of the video can vary.
