PLEASE SCROLL ALONG FOR THE STILL LIFE PHOTOGRAPHS YOU WILL NEED FOR THE CLASS
This a recorded class on Zoom so the quality of the video can vary
You will need…
Sketchbook:
My favourite sketchbooks to use are the Etchr range and Moleskine but for this class I think it is important to feel uninhibited so cheaper sketchbooks would be better. So long as the paper can handle a bit of water, thicker paper is better.
Brushes:
Nothing expensive, cheap brushes, maybe three or four in a range of sizes going up to a larger size such as a 16 or 18.
Acrylic paint OR gouache OR watercolour:
Bring along what you have but it would be good to have the following colours in whatever medium you are using: Ultramarine Blue, Arylide Lemon (or a cool yellow), a dark brown such as a Mars Brown or a Raw Umber, Naphthol Red ( or a warm red), Burnt Sienna., Titanium White. If possible a Titanium Buff will be useful for one of the exercises but we can mix an alternative if necessary.
Graphite Pencil
Plate or palette to mix your paint
NB: I use Langridge and Golden Fluid Acrylic paint, Daniel Smith Gouache and a mixture of different brands in my water colour palette.
All levels are welcome.
