Oil pastel drawing with Jay Harper, 11th February 2025

£15.00

21st January 2025, 8-9.15pm GMT

Join Jay Harper for an evening of exploring colour and composition using oil pastels. Working from a still life arrangement set up by Ellie, we will use line, colour and shape to consider different approaches to capturing the same still life.

I’ve always loved mark making and visualising in my head how something set up in front of me might appear in an artwork. Sometimes it will be a particular palette that I’m inspired by and want to incorporate into a painting, sometimes composition is the main focus. By simplifying the subject in our approach to capturing it, creates a variety of interesting outcomes.

There are no rules, just play and see what comes up!
