Water colour painting with Elizabeth Barnett, Saturday 25th April 2025

£15.00

Saturday 25th April, 10-11.15am BST

Join Elizabeth Barnett for an evening of watercolour still life painting as she guides you through how she makes her work from the initial sketches, colour mixing, mark making to finished and considered works on paper.

Elizabeth’s process involves working on pieces in her journals and sketchbooks harnessing watercolour and drawing before working up to large oil paintings for exhibitions. Watercolour forms the basis for Elizabeth’s creative practice which she learnt at a young age from her Grandmother, who was a skilled and enthusiastic watercolour painter and pastellist. A lot of her knowledge was gained by osmosis from her Grandmother and then solidified at Art school at The Victorian College of Arts in Melbourne.

Through short guided exercises in colour mixing, blending and mark making, students will paint a collection of artfully arranged vessels and will come away with inspiration and techniques to create their own unique watercolour works.
