Join Moira to discover the possibilities of watercolour through play and experimentation.
To give you an idea of the potential contained in watercolour, Moira will share examples of work from artists she loves who apply watercolour using different methods. She will then demonstrate a range of watercolour mark making techniques, which we will practice together to build knowledge and confidence. Moira will guide you through her painting process.
Studying marine life objects such as shells, fish, seaweed, we will begin by making short pen or pencil sketches to consider compositions. We’ll then make quick paintings to get a feel for the paint and to try out the mark making techniques we’ve learned. Finally, we’ll build up to a longer study, which will bring together elements learned in the class.
By the end of the hour you will cast aside any ideas that watercolour must only be used in a delicate way, and feel excited to further explore your practise.
(We can not refund classes but we are very happy to change the date for a different class if you need)
